Field Service Engineer
Job Information
The Field Service Engineer will provide after sales services under the direction of the Operations Manager. As AST
Turbo
representative on site, this role supervises under the direction of the Project Manager the commissioning, overhaul and
troubleshooting of critical rotating equipment at customer’s sites in the Oil, Gas and Energy Industry. This role
assures
that work is carried out in accordance with the customer’s expectations or specifications while ensuring that safety,
environmental and quality policies are adhered to.
Education / Experience
For this position, you will have at least 5 years of practical work experience in a similar function preferably gained
with an
OEM or an independent service provider in the Oil & Gas Industry. Ideally you have completed an apprenticeship as
mechanic (truck or construction machinery), a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering is not required. Experience
with
steam turbines and centrifugal compressors is required whereas experience with gas turbines and pumps would be a
plus.
Special Requirements
- Male, Age 30 – 55 years > Respect for different cultures
- Based in Switzerland, preferably with CH or EU passport > Customer and service focused attitude
- Good skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) > Mechanical aptitude and skills
- Fluent language skills in English, spoken and written > Ability to get along with others including willingness to
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently learn and to teach others
- Honest and loyal (long term employment expected) > Ability to read and understand technical drawings and
- Willingness to travel (international, short and long-term documents as well as to write technical reports.
